A gift for Tammy & Mike

I love making art for friends. So as soon as I found out my childhood friend Tammy was expecting twins, I just had to paint her something she could treasure for a long time. Tammy is due in July, and I'm super anxious to see the twins precious little faces.

Eat Your Art Out.

Had so much fun at the Art auction show, the Derby girls did such an amazing job putting the whole thing together, and giving the whole show a Carnival feel. I was so excited to attend, It gave me a good excuse to visit Hollywood (ma hood), also, it gave me a chance to make a mini TOP HAT! Retail price for a mini top hat, $22+, hand made by me $15 for two mini HATS!

SOLD!  Miss Dixie has a new home.

No sewing needed all glued together.

Turned in my piece for the "Eat Your Art Out"  auction show put together by the Angel City Derby Girls. I decided to do the three legged lady, felt kinda freaky adding that extra leg, but overall had lots of fun working on this particular piece.  I will miss you Miss Dixie.

GPK Art Show

I was invited to participate in Gallery 1988's Garbage Pail Kids Show! Artists were asked to choose a vintage GPK card and redesign it in their own style. I chose Fishy Phyllis! Looking forward to seeing what the other artists picked.

THE ROAD TO SHERMER: a tribute to John Hughes

This Friday Gallery 1988 is having "THE ROAD TO SHERMER" art show @ its new Venice location. The show is a tribute to legendary directer John Hughes, who created many memorable 80s films that we all love so much. My contribution to the show is inspired by the character Andie in "Pretty in Pink". If you happen to miss the opening, the art work will be up until March 4th.

Prints will be available at the show.

Sirenas

I'm working on different art pieces for different shows for 2011, and here's a sneak peak to one of them.

commisioned piece for Celine!!!

I was recently commissioned by Ben Soto to do this piece for his very talented, shoe designer wife Celine Ouaknine Soto. Celine has designed shoes for Jennifer Lopez, Betsey Johnson, Gwen Stephani's shoe line L.A.M.B and many others. I follow Celine's shoe blog regularly theshoegirl.blogspot.com, had a blast researching and designing all the cute sexy shoes on her blog. I felt so inspired by all her shoes, from now on, I will definitely be adding more detail to my characters shoes.

My warm ups before starting the final.

Dia de tus Muertos art show!!!

"Dia de tus muertos" art show was awesome. I got to hang out with friends, tasted some amazing TEQUILA, and was able to meet some of the other artist in the show as well. Jorge and Sandra did such an amazing job putting the whole show together the gallery looked beautiful w/ all the art work displayed. Didn't get to take as many pictures as I wanted, camera died right when I stepped in, but luckily Andrew over at http://aesthelete.com/ took some for me. Here's a few pics and my art pieces entered in the show. Looking forward to setting up an Etsy shop real soon!!!
